Kate McGuire, Unique Jewelry

Kate Mcguire is a self taught soutache artist and bead embroidery artist.  She has been “studying” these arts for 10 years and is discovering her own potential and has total passion for making her jewelry. Soutache is the technique of wrapping a “soutache” cord around a bead or beads to create wearable jewelry. Derived from the corded apparel as seen on 19th century military uniforms and now vintage embroidery seen on women’s apparel.  The ability to make unique jewelry from both soutache and bead embroidery is limitless as well as a very time consuming technique.
